Maastricht and surroundings also offer more than enough to do and discover for toddlers, kids and youngsters. The caves beneath Maastricht will stimulate the fantasy of any child, and the extra energy possessed by kids can be safely unloaded via various activities.
Over 50 modern and safe pieces of playground equipment, placed in a beautiful green park, will provide hours of fun! There are also 2 water basins for kids to play and swim in during warm days.
The parks also has the little ones in mind. In the 15,000 m2 of gardens, but separated from the other attractions, is a special village for the youngest toddler (up to 5 yrs) to play.
The entrance fee is €1,70 per person.The playground is open from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 -18.00 hours. On Sundays and holidays the park is open from 13.00 - 18.00 hours.

The Fort (1701-1702) on the St. Pietersberg is based on a pentagonal design with two main walkways and an additional walkway around the five walls. It's actually a very large and impressive building, with a great many stairways and passageways, loopholes and big cannons. A guide will lead you around the Fort and introduce you to its history. You will also climb up to the topmost part of the Fort (the flagpole), where you will have a fantastic view of the city and the surroundings.

Boat trip to the historic inner harbour: ’t Bassin
This boat trip takes you to the historic inner harbour, ’t Bassin, and includes passage through the locks. The boat anchors in ’t Bassin, where you have the opportunity to briefly explore, on your own, an authentic and beautiful part of Maastricht. The boat then returns to the city centre. This trip needs to be reserved beforehand.
